Paver Sealing and Repair in Delray Beach, FL
Our customer contacted us regarding some uneven pavers in their driveway and pool deck due to excessive traffic and tree roots growing under the pavers. The first order of business is to pull up the pavers and remove as much of the roots as we can to ensure this problem doesn't occur in this area and surrounding areas again. We then add additional material under the pavers so they stay level for years to come. Once we had finished making the necessary repairs, it was time to pressure clean and sand the pavers.
Our cleaning process involves eradicating any algae on the surface of the pavers. We apply a light solution to the pavers to ensure there is no algae left behind after we pressure clean the pavers. This is a critical step because we want the pavers to be as clean as possible before applying sealer. This will help ensure the longevity of the sealer. Once the pavers have been properly cleaned and rinsed we will sand areas as needed. We ended up sanding this entire driveway due to the excessive traffic it receives. The purpose of adding sand to the paver joints is to make sure that they do not shift when being driven or walked on, which can be a hazard.
The final step is to apply sealer to the pavers. Our customer had a request to use a particular sealer that they had used in the past and liked the look of. We rolled on two coats of the high quality sealer. After applying the sealer, it is important to allow the sealer to cure fully before walking and driving vehicles on the pavers. We encourage our customers to wait a full forty eight hours before driving on their freshly sealed pavers to ensure the sealer has fully adhered. It is smart to have your pavers sealed every two to three years not only to keep up with their appearance, but to also keep them protected from the elements and to ensure longevity.
