Paver Sealing in Delray Beach
Our valued customer reached out to us to discuss how we could properly protect and maintain their pavers. The driveway and pool deck were installed a few years ago and they want to preserve their investment. The process starts by removing all organic staining such as algae, weeds and mold from the surfaces and degreasing to remove any other oils, tire marks and similar stains.
Before we apply sealer to the driveway, we spread a gentle layer of sand to the paver joints to ensure stability. This will keep the pavers in place over time and help delay growth of weeds. The driveway pavers, made of concrete, received two coats of our topical, water-based product. Without making them slippery, the sealer forms a film on top of the pavers which will protect them from the stains and oils previously mentioned. This also helps delay algae growth as the algae will take longer to adhere to the sealed surface. We recommend a dry time of 72 hours for driveways to make sure that the sealer cures fully to the pavers and no tracks will be made from vehicles.
As for the pool deck, we applied a different product due to the difference in material of the pavers. The pavers our customer chose to install are sandblasted marble. Unlike traditional marble, these pavers aren't the smoothest, which helps lessen the likelihood of an accident around the pool. This change in material requires a change in product as well as how it is applied. We used an impregnating sealer which will protect the paver from within. The main advantage this type of sealer offers is that is does not change the texture of the surface. This is the best practice to prevent any future accidents for all parties involved. This type of sealer also requires very little effort to keep the pavers clean.
We look forward to cleaning and maintaining our customers investment for years to come and we hope that their driveway grabs attention of people in the neighborhood!
